Delete your account & data

1. Delete your account (in the app)

Open Lemniscate Messenger and go to Menu → Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and the data linked to it from our servers.

Lemniscate is end-to-end encrypted: your private key and your message content live on your device. Deleting the account removes your server-side data; uninstalling the app removes the on-device data.

2. What gets deleted

• Your account identifier, @username and display name.
• Your optional profile data (avatar, bio, status).
• Your optional encrypted cloud backup (if you set an email + password backup).
• Any undelivered messages and short-lived server data linked to your account.

On-chain wallet transactions are public by the nature of a blockchain and cannot be deleted. Do not place private information on-chain.

3. Delete some data without deleting your account

Inside the app you can delete individual chats, messages, media and your status at any time. You do not need to delete your account to remove this data.

Most server-side data also expires automatically:

• Undelivered messages are removed after delivery or a short expiry.
• Status updates are removed after their lifetime (from 24 hours).
• Large files are removed after about 7 days.

4. Can’t open the app?

Email [email protected] from the email address linked to your account (if you set one) and we will process your account- or data-deletion request.

5. Data retention

Our servers act as a relay and are designed to keep as little as possible. We do not sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
